interesting theory... but i really dont know... from all the science classes ive taken, evolution is survival of the fittest, and if those survivals have a trait that is genetically beneficial, they pass on those traits to the next generation and so on....
it said in 1000 years humans will split.. i dunno about that i think it will take longer for some sort of new species to start..
another thing.. i dont know if we will even "evolve" into a new species... Humans dont want to "die" and dont want other people to "die", medicine now a days keep everyone with genetic abnormalities alive longer and to survive... for example, people with down syndrome, autism, diabetes, cancer, etc etc etc... technology now a days keeps these people alive and thus they still contribute to the gene pool.... and no "fittest" who survive, its essentially everyone who will survive.
to me the only kind of selection i see now a days are intelligence, usually that leads to a good grades, good schools, good jobs that pay well, we are all money driven now...
but i understand what the article is saying... when we choose someone to be with, im sure 95% of the time we want to find someone who is attractive, so that is selection because the "ugly" people wont be contributing as much of their "ugly" features to the gene pool...
It also makes sense that there will be selection for intelligent people because its as i said, leads to better education, and smarter decisions that wont get you killed or in a fucked up situation...
evolution will be slow for humans due to fertility rates. Gestation period for a women is 9 months, and only 1 child at a time and it takes what.. till 20's to "leave the den" for humans...
i ono.. this topic is iffy... ill write more about it later.. lol

LOL... it's theory nesting... theories based on theories based on yet other theories. I believe that in 1000 years the world and the humans that inhabit it will more likely resemble those in the movie Idiocracy. That is assuming that the earth is not destroyed before hand by people's growing stupidity. Wait... I think I may have added to many zero's.... maybe 100 years is a bit more realistic.
